WHAT IS REBALANCING
REBALANCING is a unique psychosomatic body mind treatment system incorporating technical precision with an artistic meditative approach.
This effective and easy to practice method has its roots in Rolfing postural integration and liquid bodywork, and is a fascinating body mind journey.
This professional training is open to beginners and professionals alike
as a base or post graduate training.
Rebalancing was developed in the 1980's by a group of health practitioners of different disciplines, such as Rolfing postural integration Heller Work Cranio sacral balancing Tragering Physiotherapy and massage. They were working together at the multiversity in Pune India and USA under the guidance of Osho to develop Rebalancing Deep tissue massage therapy. The idea was essentially to create a new form of bodywork that would take the best of the presently existing modalities and imbue them with a deeper perspective than was currently available. The main component of this new approach was to make awareness compassion and meditativeness a central feature of the work.
Rebalancing utilizes a combination of deep tissue massage, joint tension release and energy balancing, to counteract chronic holding patterns that contribute to pain and illness. Rebalancing views the human body as much more than it's physical component, recognizing that the emotional, energetic and spiritual aspects are of as much importance to our totality.
Rebalancing is a form of body oriented psychosomatic therapy, which brings people back into harmony with themselves, so they can live their essential unity of body, mind and heart. It works with a unique synthesis of body reading, connective tissue manipulation, joint release, energy and breath work, body awareness training as well as emotions and their expression. As the body releases muscular rigidities and relaxes, energy is set free. At the same time old and unconscious emotional and mental attitudes and patterns, which imprison us, can come into our awareness.
This helps us to a better understanding of ourselves and of our hidden potentials. Hereby we come closer to our innermost core, which enables us to live life more spontaneously and gracefully.
The essence of Rebalancing is a loving, sensitive touch.
Bodywork is one of the finest arts and therefore not only a question of technique but at first an expression of love. Rebalancing sees the body as a priceless gift and not as a mechanism that needs to be" repaired". In this sense Rebalancing meets the uniqueness of each human being.
The treatment usually includes a series of 10 sessions. Though each session is complete in itself and one session is perfectly ok. A series of sessions has a powerful synergetic effect and allows the whole body to be systematically included. In this way it is suited to the individual history of the person, to their needs and to the challenges of their actual life situation.
Rebalancing Trainings are available in different places around the world and are provided by qualified and experienced teachers.
The training is an intense self-transformational process, as well as a preparation in holistic bodywork. You will learn how to systematically free the body from tensions and constrictions, so to allow the body itself to reorganize. This process brings more grace and easiness of movement, a realignment of the posture, reducing the "noise" in the whole body-mind system and opening the door to meditation and to awareness.
You will experience directly how it is possible to open to your body and become more conscious of its existence, and learn about body reading.
You will begin to learn how to use one's own body as an instrument for healing and growth. we will introduce experiential neo-reichian approach, awareness in movement, and will deepen counselling strategies, while continuing to work with touch.
Rebalancing looks at the body as made of an intrinsic core and an extrinsic sleeve.
The core corresponds to the "being", the sleeve to the "doing". In this vision, Rebalancing wants to bring balance and integration to the whole, working with the left and the right side, the upper and the lower side, the front and the back, as well as the inner and the outer, the being and the doing.
This training is suitable for people of any background that are interested in discovering the interactions of body- mind processes through direct experience, as well as further studies for people in medical, psychological or social professions.
Learning to work in a meditative way, through touching and being touched, and through an energetic process to open the body, awareness work and group sharing, the training can become a growth journey, during which each individual will find support in a loving and accepting atmosphere.
The main concept of REBALANCING is that the body and mind are one, and both are the home of the soul. Through work on the physical we can influence and regulate the balance of the whole person. It is a powerful method to release deep-seated tensions in the body, mind and feelings. REBALANCING frees tensions through deep slow and skilful strokes, which are carried out with great ease. The client is encouraged to breathe deeply, to connect to whatever he is exploring at that moment, in an invitingly gentle way. REBALANCING educates to become more free and upright. Living in the body becomes a pleasurable stress less experience.
REBALANCING is traditionally done in a sequence of 10 treatments lasting approximately an hour. In each treatment the focus is on one body segment, bringing life and awareness to the areas we never notice.
REBALANCING is a process of transformation that elevates the patterns of thought feeling and energy flow. REBALANCING is unique among the deep tissue therapies, in that the 10-session structure is a tool to work with and not a rigid structure to cling to. Besides the scientific knowledge of the strokes, precise anatomy and body reading, there is a lot of room for creativity and artistry on the part of the practitioner.
The effects of REBALANCING are long lasting and a complete series of sessions will alter the way one feels and relates to oneself.
